This is a general scope and sequence for a 2-year IB Spanish IV and V class, with ideas for interesting themes and sub-themes based on the core and optional themes for the IB exam. There are grammatical concept review suggestions as well as text-type suggestions to help students prepare for the IB exam and for teachers to begin planning units of study. It is not a unit planner for IB, but rather suggestions and ideas on how to begin planning units of study over 1-2 years for IB Spanish.
I teach IB Spanish IV HL, IV SL, V HL and V SL, however they are all mixed within the same classes. Therefore I had to create a 2-year curriculum for my A-year and B-year so that the material doesn't repeat for students. I have created my two-year curriculum into 2 years of 10 units of study (20 total) which include what will be covered, the grammatical concepts to be covered as well as the text types to be highlighted in class. The unit are planned accordingly with the literature components. Year "A" covers "La ciudad de las bestias" and "La case de Bernarda Alba." Year "B" covers "Cuando era puertorriqueña" and "Lazarillo de Tormes."
If you are interested, I also have all my lesson plans and materials uploaded as well onto my TPT site. You can buy individual units or the entire year or two-year curriculum! Check it out!
