When teaching Intro to Business & Technology, when we talk about leadership styles, the students often can understand the difference between the styles but sometimes have a hard time role playing in that style or determining which style they would be.
So this activity utilizes the RAFT Technique:
R - Role: what role are you playing?
A - Audience: who is your audience?
F - Format: what medium of communication are you using?
T - Topic: What are you talking about?
I split the class into groups, assign a leadership style to each group. Then I give them all the same topic. They have to decide (using the RAFT method) how they're going to communicate their topic to their audience.
This is a hands-on activity that always generates full class participation and a few laughs as well.
