Product Description

This is a 30-page collection of over 150 idiomatic expressions based on animals (e.g. "He made a bee line for home;" "It was the straw that broke the camel's back;" etc.) that I've compiled for my students in order to give them a user-friendly means for finding explanations for idiomatic expressions they hear or see. I've personally discovered that it can be a daunting process to look up an idiomatic expression online. I've divided these expressions in the first section into three categories: similes, nouns, adjectives; verbs; idioms so that adult learners get a sense of how they're used. In the second section, each expression is listed along with its origin (where possible), a simple easy-to-understand meaning, and a sample sentence. I hope you find this a useful and enjoyable resource.
