IEP Goals for Articulation/Phonology have been linked to Common Core Curriculum in the area of Speaking and Listening (SL). They are developed to help children improve their ability to produce multiple target sounds. IEP goals may be used with children demonstrating apraxia, unintelligible speech, or articulation/phonology errors. Identified speech errors are structured around articulatory placement: Bilabial, Labiodental, Alveolar, Palatal, and Velar. Sounds include: P, B, M, W, F, T, D, S, N, L, SH, CH, J, R, K, and G.
For educators in school districts currently using the web-based Special Education Information System (SEIS), the goals are easy to edit, copy and paste into the SEIS format.
