Product Description

In this assignment students will do a close reading of the preamble and selected sections of Articles 1 and 8 (freedoms and education). They will work on their close reading, paraphrasing and evaluating skills. Included is an end of the lesson assessment in the form of an exit ticket.

This is aimed at high school classes, but could be adapted for 4th grade.

Standards:

IS.2.1 Explain the major purposes of Indiana’s Constitution as stated in the Preamble.

IS.2.2 Describe individual rights, such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to public education, which people have under Articles I and VIII of Indiana’s Constitution.
