This is a project based learning tool for you to use when teaching about plant and animal cells. The project is ready to go, all you have to do is print and let the students do all the hard work!!
The goal of the project is for students to create a 3D model of a plant and animal cell, labeling each organelle and being creative with their ideas. Some basic arts and crafts materials are needed.
This project is differentiated into High Mid and Low, so you can target all levels and types of learners in the classroom. Essentially all students will be creating models, however a greater expectation is placed on high achievers so that they are getting the most out of your classroom. Special education needs students and students where english is their second language, will benefit from the low level project which is tailored to their level.
I have also included pictures of exemplar projects from previous years so that your students know what to aim for. A rubric is included with detailed expectations so that your students know exactly what is expected of them.
And finally I have included a week's worth of detailed lesson plans in word format, so you can copy paste or edit to suit your needs! The lesson plans are done with NGSS in mind, however they can be applied to many curriculums.
