This is a really fun way to get kids to understand the concept. The alligator needs to eat the larger sum.
To play you first roll the die and place the die in the boxes on the board. Then count up the die dots, and put the same amount of frogs on the lily pad. The hungry alligator likes to eat the most frogs. If both lily pads have the same amount of frogs, he just can't choose.
Please, keep in mind that this is for a younger or beginning crowd. Each side can only go up to 6 as that is the maximum number of a sided die.
What comes in this set? (everything is in full color)
-the full size poster
-the full size poster that can be printed on 2 A3 sheets
-the full size poster that can be printed on 4 a4 pieces of paper
-a small a4 sheet for students to have.
-a looking glass for counting on the bottom
-the top and bottom mouth of the alligator
Print out the full poster by any way you can. Some people in smaller schools may not be able to print larger than a4. So I included a4. Print out the frog pogs and the alligator mouth and eyes. I like to back mine with poster board, but you can laminate yours. You can also put it on the board and back the pogs and mouths with magnets for the class to see. I have smaller classes and we work on the floor. The pink circle is to help do some counting on the bottom scale. They can count to the first number, put the circle on it, and count the second number. It's really there to help some kids from getting confused.
If you purchase, please rate kindly, send me a comment and let me know how the kids enjoyed it.
