This resource is part of a series that I have created for explicitly teaching comprehension skills. The package focusses on inferring for students Stage 1 and 2.
The first page of each activity is the explicit teaching sequence that is based on The Gradual Release of Responsibility - a research-based instructional model developed by Pearson and Gallagher (1993). In this optimal learning model, the responsibility for task completion shifts gradually over time from the teacher to the student.
All activities are linked to new NSW English Syllabus Outcomes and links to the Australian Curriculum. It includes many printables you will be able to use over and over again. 18 pages in total.
