The original passage for this lesson is from an instructional book on how to improve one’s fictional writing. Therefore, you’ll not only be teaching your students readineg analysis, but you’ll be slipping in some writting advice too!

ANALYZING LANGUAGE, TONE, CONTENT & MEANING
This visually appealing worksheet contains the text being studied, with all of the comprehension questions annotating it around the sides. This helps students learn how to annotate (a key skill in reading analysis), while also guiding their reading.

MAKING INFERENCES
Contained on this worksheet is a table with statements about the text. Students have to decide whether these are true or not, based on information they have inferred, and then cite examples from the text to back up their opinions.
