Included in the resource:
• Two initial pages for planning thinking processes and activating prior knowledge
• A page for each of the key question words (Who, What, When, Where, Why, How) that have been modified to create an inquiry journal.
Inquiry journals are a great tool for scaffolding an inquiry, while leaving room for student agency in the process.
This journal has been developed around the key question words (Who, What, When, Where, Why and How) to form an inquiry model, taking students from asking a question through to developing action. This inquiry process is suitable for very young learners or learners who are new to the English language. There are visual prompts to help guide thinking and the choices that can be made during the inquiry.
The journal can be printed in A4 size or the pages can be printed on A3 or in poster size and used to model the process to a whole class or smaller group. Students can then use this modelling experience to adapt and create their own resource journal.
