INSECTS

As a gardener, I have always been partial to ladybugs ~ they’re SO cute~ and bees ~ as long as I’m not in their pollination sites. So, when I was researching Insects, it was nice to know there are other garden helpers that are not pests. They all are, as a matter of fact, rather fascinating and persistent creatures.

If you’re a gardener ~ and even if you’re not ~ learning about Insects is a valuable thing to know. Discovering who’s who ~ there’s 20 of them ~ by playing the Helper or Pest: A Sort & Match Game will make life a little easier, especially during the Summer when you’re outside A LOT.

I must admit when I’ve watched Nature shows and seen these tiny creatures magnified, it’s not unlike watching a sci-fi movie. It did kind of inspire me to create my Edible Insects Recipe Collection.

You probably have some wonderful, colorful, and yummy bug creations of your own. Be sure to write them down on the Blank Recipe Cards to add to your recipe ring.

Invite your friends over one rainy and/or TOO HOT afternoon for an “I’d Rather Eat Bugs” , “Bugs Don’t Bug Me”, “Bugs Are So Yummy!” or “I Dare You to Eat This Insect!” party.

Just make sure you have both types of dough so your peanut-allergy friends can join in. Have laminated copies of the Helper or Pest photo cards available and/or some books about Insects for recipe ideas. And lots of antennae & legs ingredients.

Who knows ~ there may be an entomologist ready to hatch!
