Need an engaging activity for your elementary classroom that allows students to research and present findings in ANY subject area? A simple lesson plan to reinforce those research skills in a new, creative format.
Circle Books are a fun way to organize facts and graphic images as students construct meaningful and tangible products. This activity is adaptable to almost any classroom subject area. I have used this project as a way to confirm that my students understood forms and states of energy, and it served additionally as their study guide in preparation for a science test! The possibilities are endless: book reports, literary analysis, math concepts, and social studies units—all lend themselves to the Circle Book format.
This activity is a lesson in following directions and organization; the added bonus is that students will also learn how to use a compass to draw a circle while following your instructions.
This unit includes samples, instructions, templates.
