Are you looking for a thorough way to incorporate both standards based and 6 Traits writing in your classroom routine? Here is EVERYTHING you need to start helping your students write attention-getting INTRODUCTIONS and CONCLUSIONS!

This lesson focuses introducing several different methods of writing INTRODUCTIONS and CONCLUSIONS. The students will be introduced to how to properly begin and end an essay by using PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, SIGNIFICANT QUOTATION, FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE, INTERESTING QUESTION, RIDDLE, QUOTE, and DEFINITION. Additionally, the lesson touches on how these methods address the 6 Traits in Writing. Finally, the lesson included NUMEROUS examples containing the different types of INTRODUCTIONS and CONCLUSIONS. These examples are included on the student worksheet, so the students can not only interact with the SMARTBoard/White Board, but also can make the same corrections and identifications on their worksheets.
