This is a set of 78 INVENTION TRIVIA cards, which can be used in several different ways: for reading comprehension; identifying the main idea; summarizing what you read; answering various questions (who invented it, what did they invent; when was the invention made; where was the invention made; inference: how would our lives be different without this invention; use: is it still used today, or has a newer invention replaced it; discovery or invention: was it discovered by accident, or was it invented on purpose?)
Two game boards are included. The first game board has a question prompt on each playing square. The other game board only has game playing instructions (take another turn; lose a turn; go back 2, etc.). Another option for the second game board would be to roll a die and base the question to answer on the number rolled:
1 WHAT: WHAT WAS INVENTED AND WHY?
2 WHO: WHO WAS THE INVENTOR? DID MORE THAN ONE PERSON WORK TO CREATE THIS?
3 WHERE: WAS THE INVENTION MADE (COUNTRY OR STATE) WHEN: WAS IT INVENTED?
4 INFER: TELL HOW OUR LIVES WOULD BE DIFFERENT WITHOUT THIS INVENTION.
5 USE: IS THIS INVENTION STILL USED TODAY, OR HAS IT BEEN REPLACED BY OTHER INVENTIONS?
6 ACCIDENT: WAS THIS AN INTENTIONAL INVENTION OR A “HAPPY ACCIDENTAL DISCOVERY?”
The cards are sized to be mounted on 3x5” index cards, or they may be printed on card-stock and laminated for durability.
