This IPA is designed for students who are studying shopping or clothing. Because students are at different levels in different modes of communication, I have included the performance goals from novice mid to intermediate high. Ideally, I would use this for my Spanish III-IV students because of their study of shopping & clothing.
Pg 3 Performance indicators and can be used as a rubric.
Pgs 4-7 Screenshots of a practice video for students to practice speaking about clothing. This will help them complete all parts of the IPA. You can play games with these images or do listening assessments by describing an image and having students guess which one you are talking about.
Pg 8 Interpretive Listening task where students will watch & listen to an authentic resource. They will answer questions about what they heard & saw. The goal of watching the video is not to have students understand every single word, but have them grasp the main ideas which is why the goal for interpretive listening for my students is intermediate mid, anything above is a bonus. Students could also watch the video with the closed captions (if available) (though it is not always correct, but it will give them a higher context).
Pgs 9-11 is the Interpretive Reading task where students will use the given an authentic reading to successfully answer the questions.
Pg 12 is the Presentational Writing portion of the assessment where students will use what they know to write an argumentative piece. I usually have my students use all tenses and moods that have been covered in their learning.
Pg 13-14 is the Presentational Speaking contain the prompts as well as the rubrics and images that can help guide them in their speaking.
Pgs 17-19 contain (optional) rubrics for the assessments.
Pgs 20-23 Contain practice interpretive reading assessments to allow students to have practice before the actual assessment.
