Using an interactive whiteboard app in any classroom is a MUST for teachers with iPads. There are many different apps out there that could be used. I didn’t put a specific one on the cover or on the recording sheets in case you use different one than me. At the beginning of the packet, I have included EXAMPLE sheets for:
FRACTION PARTS OF A NAME
STATE BOOK REPORT BASICS
FICTION BOOK REPORT
NONFICTION BOOK REPORT
REGROUPING IN SUBTRACTION
In my room, I am very big on ACCOUNTABILITY. I like for students to have something that they can take home and show their parents what they have done for the day. It makes my life and their life a lot easier. Plus, they can explain what concept they learned about during our school day. I have provided several templates for you to start with in this product. When we start out, we usually only do 3-4 slides in a presentation. If a student can demonstrate something for you 3-4 times, chances are, they understand what they are doing in that concept. I have left the guidelines blank for you to fill in for your students or have them write it in as you are going over this. This will also help with the understanding of directions.
Most interactive whiteboard apps will record your voice and allow you to manipulate the screen to create dynamic video tutorials that students and colleagues can access any time, as needed. Look for the right app for you and see what fits with you and your students. Each week, I demonstrate different apps that I use on my PERISCOPE channel @kamibutterfield. You can find my replays
of those videos at www.katch.me/kamibutterfield!
