This worksheet has 3 parts: 1. Students have to make a claim for each of the 8 questions and formulate 2 reasons for the claim they made. There is an example for them to follow. Step 2 is working with a partner, choosing 5 claims out of 8 they made and evaluating if they are good claims or not using a 4-point checklist (meaningful, debatable, specific, strong). Step 3 - individual work. Students have to evaluate 5 formulated claims using the same checklist. Parts 1 and 3 can be used as an assessment.
