A great way to learn and teach IRONY!!!

This lesson focuses IRONY - identifying all three forms and using them in all types of writing. The students will be introduced to the three types of IRONY and methods for using them to enhance VOICE. Additionally, the lesson focuses on why incorporating IRONY is a critical part of writing and how the use of FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE addresses Voice in the 6 Traits of Writing. Finally, the lesson includes NUMEROUS examples of IRONY. These examples are included on the student worksheet, so the students can not only interact with the SMARTBoard / White Board, but also can make the same corrections and identifications on their worksheets.

Do your students have trouble incorporating Voice in their writing? Are the essays you have turned in lacking personality and punch? Are you looking for a thorough way to incorporate both standards based and 6 Traits writing in your classroom routine? Here is EVERYTHING you need to start helping your students use FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE in their writing today!

SMARTBoard users will find interactive slides, while PowerPoint users can project the slides onto a regular white board and have the students use regular dry erase pens.
