Use the following simple visual/tactile mats to help students begin forming complete 3-word sentences using “is” and “-ing” verbs.
Suggestions for use:
--Print a copy with or without text for each student.
--Write in specific words or use picture cues with the blank mat for more targeted practice.
--During play activities or while describing pictures, have students touch each circle while forming a sentence.
--Model as necessary until students can independently use mat.
--Fade out mat use as students become more successful.
