PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS AND PRACTICING AND REVISING 198 ESSENTIAL ITALIAN VERBS!
This combined pack of ITALIAN VERBS GAMES AND ACTIVITIES SETS 1 AND 2 features 198 high-frequency ITALIAN verbs, and offers an interactive and communicative alternative to 'traditional' vocabulary and grammar drilling activities. The games and activities really do help to create a lively and multi-skill language learning environment.
The alphabetical ITALIAN-English reference lists of all 198 verbs work well as a learning support resource, and also as a whole-group reading out loud pronunciation and warm-up practice. The cards are versatile, and can be used for a number of language learning games; I’ve described several games you can play and ways you can use them in the classroom. They're great for a ready-made quick vocab quiz too! The game card template lets your students put their knowledge of ITALIAN verbs to the test as they create quiz cards for each other, preferably from memory!
There are three differentiated RECALL AND WRITE ACTIVITIES in each booklet:
Students recall and write all the verbs in ENGLISH from an ITALIAN prompt - the ITALIAN verbs are in alphabetical order
Students recall and write all the verbs in ENGLISH from an ITALIAN prompt, with the verbs appearing in random, rather than alphabetical order
Students recall and write all the verbs in ITALIAN from an ENGLISH prompt - this really does put their knowledge to the test - and is great for practicing spelling in ITALIAN too.
I've classed the set as suitable for Grades 8-12, but it really does depend on when your students began ITALIAN, the level they are currently working at, and the level they are aspiring to. The games and activities are particularly useful as students prepare for examinations, and for the transition period between learning stages. The REFERENCE, RECALL AND WRITE booklets have 18 pages, and are best photocopied double-sided as a workbook for students to work through either in directed class time, or as independent learning at home.
Laminating is certainly worth the effort and expense - you will be able to re-use the cards for years to come.
I've created several sets of ITALIAN verb games and activities, each featuring different sets of verbs - they work well as complementary learning resources, and build up a comprehensive bank of essential ITALIAN verbs for your students.
