Great way to begin the year, orientation activities, or vocabulary lessons! 3 pages in all. You will receive a set which says"back pack" and a set with the word "school bag"
Page A: What's in your backpack: backpack with the usual school supplies and objects (lunch bag, water bottle) which kids might have
Page B: backpack with empty circles which students can fill in themselves
Page C: Ice breaker questions worksheet students can fill out. The questions are:
How I got my backpack
Why I like or don't like it
Inside there is
If I ever lost my backpack
1. Back to School: Help let students share and talk about themselves. Start to get to know each other, have students open up, and get rid of shyness and jitters!
2. Planned Activity: Students are told that they will be sharing their backpacks and things which they carry around inside. I would usually preface this activity by letting them know they don't have to share EVERYTHING inside their bags, just what they want to. The objective is that students get to know one another, get some giggles, and loosen up.
You can also do this in a pair activity, where students first fill out the sheet and draw in the objects in their bags, then share (compare/contrast, explain, find things in common) with partners or groups.
3. Vocabulary Lesson: Go over basic school materials.
