Thanks for checking this package out! My kids love it!
Included in the set are different ways to represent and (de)compose the numbers 10-20 in the following ways:
• number words
• addition (i.e., 10 + # of one(s))
• # ten(s) and # one(s)
• tally marks
The numeral is found on cone pieces and all other representations are found on different colored scoops of ice cream. When completely sorted and assembled, there are ELEVEN cones with 5 multicolored scoops of ice cream EACH! That’s a lot of ice cream! ☺
Print all pages on white cardstock/construction paper. Laminate for durability, then cut out all shapes. Don’t forget to print enough recording sheets (which are included, as well!) for students to use as they assemble the pieces! ☺
I typically use this pack as a math center. After introducing the game to students in a whole group setting, groups of 2 or 3 kids sit together and analyze/assemble the ice cream cones. To ensure student accountability, all students are required to complete the recording sheets as they work, as well. It again reinforces the various ways teens can be composed and decomposed.
Get ready for some delicious fun! ☺
