Product Description
Help students learn and understand place value! Included in this product are 25 ice cream cones with numbers anywhere from 10 to 100, 3 blank ice cream cones, 42 ice cream scoops with "10" written on them, and 54 cherries with "1" written on them.

Students will take the ice cream cone cards and put them face down in a pile. They will then flip over one ice cream cone at a time and begin "building" the ice cream by placing the correct number of scoops and cherries on the ice cream cone. For example, if the ice cream cone had the number "67" on it, students would need to place six scoops on the cone and seven cherries on top.

For more advanced students, they can flip over two ice cream cone cards at once and build both of them. They can then compare the two numbers and calculate the difference between the two numbers (by canceling out scoops and cherries). This will help them with their mental math skills.

Students can also build their very own ice cream using the blank ice cream cones. After they have finished adding scoops and cherries on the ice cream cones, they can write the numbers on the blank rectangles on the cones (if laminated).

To expand students' thinking, ask them questions such as, "What would happen if I added one more scoop/cherry to this ice cream cone?" or "What would happen if I took one scoop/cherry away from this cone?"

Also included in this bundles are examples, 2 ice cream building mats, and a recording sheet for students to record their answers on. These puzzles are ideal for math centers.

Printing the pages on card stock and then laminating is highly recommended as it will increase the durability and the longevity of the product. The pieces in this product may be stored in a Ziploc bag, envelope, or plastic container.
