Product Description

This listing will assist your students to develop their ability to match identical and non-identical images of clothing (visual discrimination skills). These activities were developed for students with special needs such as autism. Matching activities teach students to recognise when two things are the same, a necessary skill before students can move on to categorising objects. Sorting activities can also assist with vocabulary development. 40 pages, great for Early Intervention, students with autism or Special Education classrooms.

The activities included will allow you to differentiate your lessons for both students who are working on matching small numbers of identical images, to the move advance skill of sorting larger numbers of non-identical images (for example, sorting socks and pants between two pages). Some real life photographs are also included for students to match the photograph with the clipart representation of the item.

These activities can be hole punched and stored in a binder. Teachers should choose the activity/ies suitable for the student and remove them from the binder for the student to work on. Once a task is mastered it can be completed as an Independent Work task.

*These pages can be used in various ways (matching or sorting). You can provide the student with your choice of visuals from the various categories making it more or less complex depending on the student level. For example, you may begin with the student simply moving the sock images from the backing page into the ‘washing basket’, the next time the student may have to place the socks in the basket and the shoes on the ‘shoe rack’. Advanced students may sort three or more categories of clothing at a time, matching the non-identical images on the various pages.

• Pages 39-42 Non Identical Matching 2 choices (Matching clipart to photograph) -3 activity pages + visuals
