This activity was used for the MCAS-Alt portfolio for geometry for grades 7-10. There are several sorting activities included. There is a size large enough to cut and paste into a file folder game, or to put velcro/magnets on for a white board. There are smaller versions to be printed for 8.5x11 sized paper. The sorts include circles, triangles, rectangles, pentagons, hexagons and octagons. The labels for the categories include the number of sides for the MCAS-Alt wording of sort shapes by attribute. There are two sets of worksheets with the varied directions of identify shapes and sort two-dimensional (2D) shapes. There are also two sets of worksheets where students have to draw a line between the image and the category. This activity includes images or real-world objects as well as just stock shapes.
This activity was used in a substantially separate special education classroom at the high school level, but the material is appropriate for PreK-1 curriculum on shape identification. If you have any questions or concerns about the product please let me know so that I can make it better for you!
