This lesson builds phonics by identifying and decoding words with a short “o”. In 24 pages, the child will
• preview six short “o" words: frog, dog, log, hops, hot, and pot,
• identify and preview a storybook,
• read a story that focuses on the short “o”,
• answer literal comprehension questions,
• understand the question word “where”,
• identify and distinguish rhyming words with short “o”,
• identify and name upper- and lowercase letters “O o”, and
• trace lowercase short “o” in color-coded words.
