Each question is an introductory paragraph of an essay. Students are instructed to underline the thesis statement. Features a pro tip on how to complete this assignment, as well as detailed instructions. I use this as practice in identifying a thesis statement before I have students write their own. It really helps to see student examples of thesis statements first.
Three questions are easier, with typical three reason thesis statements at the end of the paragraph. Two questions are a bit trickier because the reasons are in separate sentences from the actual thesis statement. Answer key included explains the trickier questions. Great for assessment.
