Help your students learn to identify run-on sentences and correct them with this resource. These task cards include 3 types of questions. The first set of cards ask students to identify if the sentences have been written correctly (ex: if they need a comma conjunction). This shows if they can distinguish between a compound sentence and a simple sentence with a compound subject/predicate.
The second set of cards asks students to identify which sentence is a run due to punctuation mistakes (ex: using a comma without a conjunction, etc.)
The third set of cards asks students to choose the sentence that is punctuated correctly. This shows whether students understand how to combine sentences with comma/conjunctions and semicolons.
There are 20 cards total, and each one uses a multiple choice format. An answer sheet and answer key are provided.
