Description

Identifying Fractions Task Cards has students shading in the fraction. There are 48 fractions. The cards will need to be laminated or in plastic sleeves for children to shade them in if used at math centers, stations, rotations, small groups, RTI, partner work, or early finishers. You can also not laminate them and give each student a set of cards or give them the recording sheets which can be used for Scoot and other cooperative group activities and games. The fractions have denominators of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Two answer keys that I filled in is also included. Updated on August 27th, 2018.

Please note all the kids holding fractions are girls as the clip art for those denominators were girls. I may add a set later for 7 to 12 which are boys. Thank you for understanding that.

Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. Describe the whole as two of, or four of the shares. Understand for these examples that decomposing into more equal shares creates smaller shares.
Partition circles and rectangles into two, three, or four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, thirds, half of, a third of, etc., and describe the whole as two halves, three thirds, four fourths. Recognize that equal shares of identical wholes need not have the same shape.
Partition shapes into parts with equal areas. Express the area of each part as a unit fraction of the whole. For example, partition a shape into 4 parts with equal area, and describe the area of each part as 1/4 of the area of the shape.
