Teacher shows students a card with 3, 4 or 5 pictures. The teacher or facilitator calls out a word and the student listens for initial sound, looks at the pictures then holds up finger of letter placement; one finger for first picture, two fingers for second picture, three fingers for third picture and so on. The teacher has the answer key in back of card and can check children's responses for understanding.
This is ideal for whole or small group. It may be used by teachers, parents, volunteers or student helpers to check for mastery of initial letter sound of letters. No worksheets needed. No computers. It is an interactive game.
