Students select a color for each term in an expression and then work to identify all the terms that are like to the ones given. Once identified they color the box containing the term. Once completed this will create a picture of a generally identifiable character. However because they aren't told what colors to choose it comes out a bit more unidentifiable for them right away. But upon closer review (and the help of a friend) they will generally "get" the picture. Each page can easily fill a 45 minute period and serves as excellent reinforcement activity. They also work exceptionally for a substitute as it is an activity that is both meaningful and fun.
