ANSWER KEY INCLUDED!!!
Get your students out of their desks and moving!
Objective: Students will show their ability to identify the slope of a given linear equation. Students will show that they are able to rewrite the equation of a line in slope-intercept form to identify the slope.
Instructions: Print out the following 12 pages, single sided. Chose one of the two answer sheets and make a copy for each student. Post the 10 equation sheets around the classroom with tape or thumb tacks. Students start at an sheet and write the equation down then identify the slope. They will find the poster with the slope they just found, write the shown equation and identify the slope. Repeat till the answer key is filled and all posters have been visited.
Print on colored pages, card stock, or laminate
As you post, mix up the order!
Post around your room/hallway in a random order
Allow students to work in groups of 2 or 3 (still make each student complete the answer sheet)
Use the hunt as a warm-up, closing activity, review day activity, or as part of a quiz
Some students may not enjoy working standing up so I allow those students to take a picture of the posters with iPads to work on at their desk
Play some music! (school appropriate of course)
Create competition by rewarding the first group to accurately complete the answer sheet (high fives are great prizes)
Warn students to be careful with negative signs. 5 and -5 are different!
