This 3 page worksheet starts with a one page reading defining what a control group, experimental group, dependent variable, independent variable, hypothesis, operational definition and a confounding variable is. The reading gives the students examples to help them better understand the term.
Next there are 4 descriptions of experiments that a researcher is conducting. The students must write a hypothesis for the study and find the control group, experimental group, the dependent variable, and the independent variable.
Finally there is a study listed where the student will find the operational definition given by the researcher.
There is an answer key for the activity.
I use this in my regular and AP Psychology courses.
