Product Description
My name is Valerie Elise - please read the description below to get a thorough idea of everything in this packet!

Included in this packet are five homework assignments, three assessments (initial, final, and modified final), and nine differentiated classroom worksheets that focus on identifying and comparing decimals to the tenths, hundredths, and (in some cases) thousandths place. All answer keys are also included.

Homework #1 should be given out on Monday, Homework #2 should be given out on Tuesday, and so on and so forth. The first page of each homework assignment focuses on identifying and comparing decimals.

The second page of each homework assignment consists of a mixed review that focuses on identifying and comparing fractions, fractions on the number line, order of operations/pre algebra, multi-digit multiplication, subtraction (tens through the millions), addition (tens through the millions), rounding (tens through the millions), and place value (tens through the millions).

The initial assessment is intended to be administered on Monday, after you have presented your first lesson on identifying and comparing fractions. Grade the initial assessment, and based on your students' performance, divide them into three groups: high (blue group), average (red group), and low (yellow group).

Tuesday through Thursday, use the class work assignments. All of the blue worksheets are very difficult and meant for your high-performing students. All of the red worksheets are of average difficulty and meant for your at-grade-level students. All of the yellow worksheets are easy and meant for your low-performing students. Typically, I have the students in the Blue Group work in pairs. If both students get the same answer, they have decent assurance that they completed the problem correctly. If they're confused, they can ask their partner (as opposed to me) for assistance. The Red Group also works in pairs, and follows the same guidelines - hopefully with a classroom aide overseeing them, but not necessarily. The Yellow Group works with me in a small group setting so that I can provide intervention. Every day, grade the class work - and based on your students' performance, adjust which group they are in the next day. For example, if a student in the Yellow Group performs very well on Tuesday, promote them to the Red Group on Wednesday; or, if a student in the Blue Group finishes very little of their work or gets most of the problems wrong on Tuesday, demote them to the Red Group on Wednesday. There are enough worksheets included for three days of differentiated class work.

On Friday, administer the Final Assessment or Modified Final Assessment to your students, depending on their ability level. The Final Assessment should be administered to the majority of the students. The Modified Final Assessment consists of problems that are of a comparable difficulty level to the Final Assessment, but has fewer problems on it so that your struggling students are able to demonstrate their knowledge without feeling overwhelmed.
