Product Description
This Idiom Origins Chart may be used as an individual/group homework assignment or project based on a list of idioms provided by the teacher.

I presented a weekly idiom, with its meaning and its correct use in a sentence, on the first day of every week to my 7th graders. I used this Idiom Origins Chart as a partner homework assignment given at the end of the semester. Each group could choose any five (5) idioms from the semester's worth of weekly idioms and then research and record the origins of those idioms on this chart.

Optional presentation: On the day the assignment is due, you could require each group to present one of their idioms and its origin to the class to help satisfy public speaking requirements.
