A soccer themed game targeting idioms!
1. Give each student a “Soccer Goal” placemat.
2, Students take turns drawing cards and identifying the meaning of the idiom. For increased difficulty have your students use the idiom in a sentence.
3. Students give back five cards for drawing a red card, three cards for drawing a yellow card or one card for drawing a “out of bounds” card. If they draw a “GOAL!” card, they get an extra turn.
4. The student with the most soccer ball cards wins!
30 idiom soccer ball cards, 6 "GOAL!" cards, 4 Red Cards, 4 yellow cards, 4 "out of bounds" cards, and 4 goal placemats. An idiom answer key is also included.
There are 3 worksheets included for matching the idiom to the definition and 3 worksheets for writing the meaning of idiom sentence.
