Product Description
This packet contains 50 idioms! I created the pages so you could cut the definition off to separate it if you wanted to have your students guess what the idiom means from just reading it or after you put it in a sentence for them. The top of the page is the idiom and the bottom of the page is definition of the idiom. Many of these are every day phrases we say that the students might not fully understand what you mean. This product also helps support the common core standard of having the students distinguish literal language from nonliteral language (RL.3.4) I think I've "hit the nail on the head" with this one! :)

Included:

-Idiom of the Week Sign
-What is an idiom? definition poster
-50 idiom posters with definition
-worksheet to use when discussing meaning of idiom (can make pages into journal or notebook for them to keep all throughout the year...that's what I did!)

** The reasons I didn't add pictures to the posters are because I didn't want the clipart to influence the picture they had in their head about what the idiom meant and I didn't want them to take the picture literally!
