Give students practice working with idioms using this Idioms Matching Game.
Kids match a sentence with an idiom and context clues to show what the idiom means with a description of the meaning of the idiom. There are also blank picture cards to draw a picture of the literal meaning of the idiom.
This activity can be done in student notebooks, in a folder, or on a folded piece of construction paper. Students cut out the pieces and arrange them on their papers. It can be done as a class, in a small group, or individually.
