Help Peter the Reader understand what he is reading!! He has "stumbled upon" some idioms and doesn't seem to "wrap his brain around" the meanings.
Students can copy idioms on the graphic organizer, draw the literal meaning and then, with the help of teacher, write or draw the symbolic meaning of the idiom. Lastly, they must use it in a sentence of their own!
I am saving as many of these pages as possible to create an idiom book at the end of the year.
This packet includes a cartoon image of "Peter the Reader" asking what an idiom is, as well as a definition poster to help explain this type of figurative language. Have fun with it!
