Teaching your students idioms is both fun and essential. You will be amazed at the number of idioms that they have never heard, have misheard, or have misunderstood for years. For example, many of my students swear that the idiom “play it by ear” is really “play it by year.” No need to “put your nose to the grindstone” as I have prepared all that you need for a short unit on American idioms. Have you been meaning to teach these phrases but have been putting it off? It’s time to take the “bull by the horns.” This packet of materials will make it so easy for you. In it, you will find an introductory PowerPoint slide deck and three practice activities all with a key as well as a follow-up assessment with a key.
