"Eddy the red-haired elf had a headful o' ginger hair!" Let your students imagine they live in the North Pole and make believe they are elves! They will make an elf craft including a written summary of "If I Were an Elf..." Also, they will create their own elf songs to the tune of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." After all, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!

Directions for Elf Craftivity:
Students brainstorm about being an elf on the “If I Were an Elf...” page. After that, they fill in the gift box page with a summary of “If I Were an Elf.” Next they color either the girl or boy elf, cut out the elf and gift box, and tape them together (side-by-side/overlapping slightly) so that you can post them on your bulletin board!
