Use these 50 photo cards to target understanding and use of if/then statements. Task cards build student’s skills with predicting, cause and effect, inferencing and problem solving.
Cards can have more than one correct answer (i.e. If you cut your finger then you cry. If you cut your finger then you get a bandaid.)
Expand the activity by having your students explain why they chose their response. (i.e., If I cut my finger then I would call my mom because she knows how to wash it and put on the bandaid.)
You can also use the cards as a prompt for telling short stories (i.e., Ben wanted to make dinner, but he cut his finger. so . . . ).
