This is a perfect quick book companion activity. After reading the story, have the children talk about their favorite part of the book. This story has beautiful illustrations that all my students love to look at and talk about. The mouse also does some pretty funny things. Ask each student to write one sentence about their favorite part of the book or something funny the mouse does. The children can then draw the scene and talk about what their picture represents. This is a great activity to get your students thinking creatively, talking, and using appropriate grammar ;)
Example: "If you give a mouse a cookie..... He might ask for scissors and cut his hair" with an accompanied picture of the mouse cutting his hair.
