"Benvenuti al Sud" (Welcome to the South) is an Italian remake of the french film "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis" made in 2010, which told the story of a southern postal employee unhappily transferred to the north. But in an Italian context, the protagonist is a self-pitying northern hero dispatched to the Mezzogiorno, in a small town near Napoli called Castellabate, the plot acquires more political bite. This film explores the cultural differences between Northern Italy and Southern Italy as well as the linguistic differences with the dialect spoken in the South.
