For this project, students will be creating a salt dough relief map of Illinois which includes the features that have been studied during this unit.
The packet includes the project description, materials needed and a letter home requesting the flour and salt required to make the dough. The teacher will need to provide the rest of the materials listed.
There is also a grading rubric for this project. It is meant to be used as a project-based summative assessment for the Geography Unit.
Here is a link to a video of students creating salt dough maps as an example, though these students are in Pennsylvania. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RSI6M8lQ0I
