Use this fully editable Power Point with any vocabulary you use in class. Students create a poster of one vocabulary word on a sheet of 8.5 x 11 piece of copy paper. The Illuminated Letters students create are loosely related to the Medieval Illuminated Letters.
Students are asked to create a well-organized poster that includes the:
-accurate spelling of their vocabulary word
-correct use in a sentence
-part of speech
-visual representation incorporated into the word
Illuminated Letters posters are great for any subject, any grade 6-12. My student examples come from 7th, 11th, and 12th grade students. This is a great one-time only lesson, or regular assignment for students to build their vocabulary, while using creativity to exercise their critical thinking skills. Great for an extra credit opportunity, or early finisher activity!
