Idioms are such a fun figurative language topic to teach because they sound crazy if taken literally, and that's exactly what you'll want your students to do for part of this fun, no-prep activity. Students will illustrate both the literal and figurative version of an idiom, and write its meaning, to create a page that can then be used as a bulletin board display or part of a class idiom dictionary. I've included 56 different idioms to illustrate, directions you can project for your students, and examples of finished pages from my own students.
