Lesson Description:In this lesson/project students are tasked with choosing a word then illustrating that word in a way that communicates its meaning. Students learn about various art and design concepts that they may choose to employ to accomplish this task. These concepts include: - color scheme- typeface/font- implied or visual texture- subject matter & symbolism - ways to alter or modify picture plane.Using any combination of these concepts in an options for students if it helps them more adequately communicate the meaning of the word they chose. This lesson includes:- a brief lesson plan,- student examples,- interactive “word chooser”- introduction slideshow- and grading rubric
