Teachers: I do this activity with my kids every
year and they love it!
You may want to laminate the following idiom
cards for durability.
Make sure you review with students the
definition of an idiom.
I randomly hand out the cards to my students.
On a sheet of paper, they write the idiom
phrase and what it means somewhere big
enough for people to see and read.
Then they draw and color their idiom example.
After everyone is finished, I give them the
opportunity to share before hanging them in
I have also included a section in back for an
idiom matching game. This would be great to
use for small group or partners.
Makes a great hall or bulletin board display!
