As 21st century teachers, is it imperative that we are teaching digital citizenship skills to our students as soon as we give them devices. Their digital footprint follows them everywhere they go, whether they know it or not. This product will help you teach your students exactly what they need to know to be safe, respectful, and responsible while on devices or online.
This product meets the following ISTE student standards (from iste.org):
Students understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior.
a. Advocate and practice safe, legal, and responsible use of information and technology

c. Demonstrate personal responsibility for lifelong learning
d. Exhibit leadership for digital citizenship

Posters with minilessons include:
I’m building my digital footprint everyday.
I will make safe and appropriate choices while on my device.
I will keep my private information private.
I will be respectful of myself and others while on my device.
I will never share my passwords.
I will report any and all bullying I see while on my device.
I will always give credit to sources I use.
You can literally pick up the poster and the minilesson the same day you are going to teach this, and be fully prepared. Each minilesson comes with a teacher script and turn and talk discussion suggestions. I’ve included writing options for both primary and intermediate learners, as well as differentiation options for intermediate learners. Students will enjoy earning the certificate of completion once all the rules have been taught and mastered.
